What if you could have a pleasant, stress-free conversation about God without involving politics or even necessarily religion? Anybody breathing a sigh of relief? Seeing God through the eyes of children allows us to do just that, and this is the gift offered to us through comedian and writer Monica Parker’s new book, “OMG: How Children See God.”
I’m not normally a big book person. I tend to get bored easily when it comes to reading. But, I couldn’t put this book down! Reading all the different ways children see god and what they think of him I just loved! Even my 6 year old son enjoyed reading through this book!
It’s so interesting to see how kids think so differently about God. I found a lot of the sayings so cute and sweet. When I asked my son who is 6 “Who is God?” he said “He is from heaven and he loves us.”
“God walks me to school every day so that I will be protected.” I loved that a 6 year old said that. It is so heartwarming to me to see these kinds of things.
It was so much fun to see all the different pictures from the kids when asked “What does God look like?” My son got a kick out of some of the drawings and would say that is not what I think God looks like.
Here is a fun video that tells a little about why Monica Parker chose to write this book and also gives you a glimpse at some of the kids from the book!
